North Carolina is home to the second largest estuary in the United States. Pamlico Sound is the largest single body of water in the estuary, and the fishing possibilities are endless. From Bull Red Drum fishing in the late summer and early fall to spring-time trout in April and May, Pamlico Sound offers something for everyone. We frequently catch redfish, speckled trout, flounder, stripers, bluefish, and more! Pamlico Sound is truly an inshore angler’s paradise.
Here’s a list of what’s biting (and flying) year round:
March – Speckled Trout, Stripers, Shad (in the rivers)
April – Puppy Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Stripers (hot topwater action!)
May – Cobia, Puppy Drum, Flounder, Speckled Trout, Bluefish
