Pamlico Sound offers a wide variety of fun outdoor activities. Flounder gigging is a blast, and it’s especially fun for children. The stalk and hunt of flounder gigging is a memorable experience that will keep you coming back for more. I have employed every method possible for lighting up these tasty flatfish. Nowadays I prefer to wade and stalk. It’s a much more engaging experience as you become more in tune with the nighttime wild of the sound. It’s a slow stroll through shallow water gigging flounder as you go. And the best part is definitely when the flounder surface on the dinner table!
This trip starts at 9:00 pm and ends at 12:00 am. Depending on conditions, we may have to drive to our destination. If required, we will depart early enough such that we will have the boat launched by 9:00 pm. Children of appropriate age are welcome! Flounder gigging will be a very entertaining experience for them.

- Bug Spray (Typically you won’t need it but just in case.)
- Cooler With Drinks and Snacks
- Rain Jacket (even if the weatherman says no rain in forecast)
